Primary Description:
Clear bubbly glass with many minute impurities and grey tinge; wear marks at base; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Almost cylindrical body with pushed up base having rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: on the vessel in multicolored enamel the large coats of arms of the houses of Oldenburg and Schwarzburg, separated from each other by two lily-of-the-valley stalks; above is the inscription: "V. G. G. I. G. Z. O. V. D. H. Z. I. + V. G. G. E. G. Z. S. G. Z. O. V. D. F. Z. I" (Von Gottes Gnaden Johann Graf zu Oldenburg und Delmenhorst, Herr zu Jever. Von Gottes Gnaden Elisabeth Grafin zu Schwarzburg, Grafin zu Oldenburg und Delmenhorst, Frau (?) zu Jever); the inscription is separated by an S-like sign and crosses; below rim a gilded band, partly with a scale pattern studded with a zigzag frieze of triple rows of white and red beads, the scales having central green beads; white dashes on the foot ring.
