Each bird has bulbous beak and small head almost completely occupied by eye, which is represented by countersunk dot; neck is short and narrow; body has plump breast and merges with tail; wing is folded; leg is bent, with foot pointing forward; curved ribbon with tassel extends backward from top of neck. Some outlines are notched, and wing feathers are indicated by short cuts arranged in herringbone pattern on either side of longitudinal groove with circular depression at upper end.
