Transparent light bluish green; slightly bubbly. Blown; relief-cut. Bowl: shallow. Rim plain; wall (Th. 0.1 cm) straight and tapering; base plain and slightly concave; remains of stem or pontil mark (D. 1 cm), which projects below edge of base and causes bowl to sit awkwardly. Decorated in relief (Th. 0.1–0.15 cm) on wall and base. On wall: continuous frieze, without borders, that extends from 1.2 cm below rim to junction with base. It consists of 10 birds, all alike, standing in left profile (when seen from outside), with head turned to look backward. Each bird has bulbous beak and small head almost completely occupied by eye, which is represented by countersunk dot; neck is short and narrow; body has plump breast and merges with tail; wing is folded; leg is bent, with foot pointing forward; curved ribbon with tassel extends backward from top of neck. Some outlines are notched, and wing feathers are indicated by short cuts arranged in herringbone pattern on either side of longitudinal groove with circular depression at upper end. On base: raised concentric ring (D. 4 cm) with boss (D. 2.2 cm) at center.
