Primary Description:
Colorless, cadmium yellow-orange non-lead glass, iridized black, metallic gold leaf; blown with hot applications, manipulated while hot. Heavy ovoid shape of colorless glass, with overall yellow-orange mottling; thick rim wrap, with gold flecks; narrow base, with thick foot wrap of black overlaid with band of gold leaf; spiraling from deep inside opening and cascading over rim are thick ribbed spirals, with "candy cane" striping of iridized steel-blue and black; within spirals emerge four large lily-shaped "flowers" of black overlaid, with colorless and deep red with interiors overlaid with gold leaf; rough pontil; inscribed in script near base wrap: "Chihuly 90".
