Primary Description:
Fragment of Beaker. Colorless; decorated in gold, red, blue, and white. Blown; gilded, enameled. Fragment of beaker. Upper wall (Th. 0.1-0.15 cm) tapers, with concave profile. Decoration consists of parts of two registers. Upper register has blue nashkhi inscription, outlined in red, on gilded background; it is bordered at bottom by three narrow red lines containing, at top, continuous row of very small white dots and, at bottom, band of gilding. Lower register contains two carefully executed fish; fish on right is complete, swims from right to left, and, in addition to outline, has mouth, gill, lateral line, and scales on upper body; fish on left is incomplete, but appears to swim upward from left to right; bottom of register is bordered by narrow band of adjoining circles that alternate with quatrefoils, all gilded and with red outlines.
