Primary Description:
Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Large, round-funnel bowl, with cut facets at the base; sides with engraved decoration: at the rim, a scalloped border with stylized foliage alternating with balls, above a band with polished oval and circular facets; the Russian Order of Saint Andrew the First-called and chains engraved on the sides, on one side the imperial arms of Russia (crowned double-headed eagle, a shield depicting St. George slaying the dragon on its breast), the other a saltire cross with figure of a man in the center, the ends inscribed "S A P R" (Sanctus Andreas Protector Russiae); the chains formed of imperial eagles, circular medallions bearing saltire crosses inscribed "S A P R", and crowned trophy shields inscribed with the mirror monogram "A I"; two mereses at the base of the bowl, above a flattened hollow ball knop decorated with cut facets, above two mereses, a facet-cut hollow inverted baluster stem, and basal mereses; circular foot with engraved border matching that at the rim; rough pontil mark.
