Kojiro’s kiln-formed sculptures exist to document events, or incidents, in the process of making. By injecting a chemical into the glass, tiny air bubbles are created throughout the structure of the sculpture, and as it cools inside the kiln, it develops a unique, fragmented shape. The natural transparency and brilliance of the material are denied in this work, which has the unglassy appearance of plaster.
