Mosaic Plaque with Apis. Translucent canes of deep blue glass, opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque light green, and opaque red in a matrix of opaque light blue, bubbly with much chord and white stone, repolished recently; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Apis bull composed of blue and white, outlined in blue, retains a yellow ear and eye while horns support a blue ureaus in a light green field; he stands on a pedestal decorated with alternating yellow palmette motifs, the base of which curl out to form two pairs of rosettes on either side, the lower rosette is a four-petaled flower with a yellow center, white leaves with red tips while the upper rosette is a yellow center with white stems, red center with yellow tips.
