Primary Description:
Polychrome decoration, probably fused of crushed and ground frit, pitted surface. Rectangular shape, depicts Egyptian scene; on a medium blue ground, two figures lead in procession a ceremonial bull or Apis, the sacred bull; yellow, red and black stripe border frames scene, yellow-green border on edge; side on which the figures proceed to the left retains a clear outline and more detail, "back" side preserves brighter colors; first figure in Egyptian dress (green and red) and hairstyle holds a red staff and leads Apis by a yellow rope; Apis is black, brown and white with red eye and nose, a multicolor sash (yellow, red, black, white, blue, green) is draped around his neck; second figure in Egyptian dress and hairstyle pushes the bull from behind; first figure is light in color, second is brown; Apis is better proportioned than the human figures.
