Primary Description:
Colorless non-lead glass; blown, enameled. Cylindrical, straight-sided shape; the sides separated into four equal sections by yellow enameled lines; enameled figures in each section, at the front, with white enameled inscriptions on the reverse; at the top, a half-length figure of a woman wearing a brilliant blue dress, holding a globular yellow fruit (apple ?) to her face; tufts of grass at either side; inscribed on the reverse "Zuchtig wie ein Jungfreulein,"; in the second section, a red stag with yellow antlers; tufts of grass in two patches; and inscribed "Begierig wie ein Hirschlein,"; in the third section, a flesh-colored rabbit and three tufts of grass, inscribed "Lustig wie ein Haslein,"; and in the bottom section, a white wild pig and three tufts of grass, inscribed "Besoffen wie ein altes Schwein/Anno 1719."; flared, folded foot, with white dashes along the top at the rim; conical kick underneath the base, with rough pontil mark.
