This object is an authentic example of Lalique glass, but its color was dramatically altered at a later date. The purple color was most likely produced by irradiation, and was given to the glass to increase its value. This kind of alteration is fraudulent, as this color is not original to the object, and it diminishes its value.

Primary Description: 
Vase, "Pierrefonds". Transparent violet purple glass; mold-pressed vase, hot-applied handles, acid-etched. Inverted bell-shaped vase with two large scroll handles with spokes. The purple color is not original to the object and was most likely produced at a later date by irradiation. The object is authentic, but it has been altered.
