Web Description:
Beginning as cell-like patterns and arcane notations jotted on paper, Michael Glancy’s objects slowly acquire form and texture that is shaped and revealed by cutting and sandblasting. The final step is the application of copper through an electroforming process in which the objects are attached to electrodes and placed in a chemical bath. Glancy’s pieces evolve from one another, and they are essentially organic. Even though the work is abstract, nature is always present.
