Transparent dark gold ruby. Blown, applied; silver mounts raised, chased, engraved, gilded. Mug: pear-shaped body with cylindrical neck, bulbous below; applied loop handle, curled at lower terminal; trailed foot-ring and rough pontil mark. Gilded silver domed and gadrooned cover, with flat top bearing engraved cupid leaning on bowl, holding mask before his face, inscribed “Verstellen ist allein meine Kunst” (Disguise is my only art). Brim flat, with engraved stylized foliage; ball-shaped and ribbed grip for thumb. Foot-ring also of gilded silver, with cut and engraved stylized leaves grasping foot of jug, with flat rim with engraved foliage.
