Primary Description:
Colorless glass; cast (pâté de verre) and cut, ground, and polished. Sculpture: shallow square block resting on thirty-two short cylindrical feet. Block consists, toward edges, of many fused elements with curved surfaces piled one on another like soap bubbles, the surfaces covered with minute bubbles which give them a whitish appearance; at center, open square containing two parallel cylinders running between opposing sides and, below these, two identical parallel cylinders running at right angles. Each "foot" was cast in several stages and contains several irregular but more or less concentric bubble-covered surfaces. Top and sides of block, and bottoms of "feet" cut, ground and polished; all other surfaces matte, appearing almost white. Signed with diamond point on side: "Weinberg 831107".
