Web Description: 
Moïse Kisling, a painter and graphic artist, was born in Poland, but he lived and worked in Paris. Although he was interested in Cubism, he developed a representational style influenced by Paul Cézanne. His circle of friends included the influential painters Amedeo Modigliani and André Derain.

Vase with Nude. From the Steuben series "Twenty-Seven Contemporary Artists."Colorless lead glass; blown, engraved. Tall, deep footed vase with slightly flared lipless, fire-polished rim; vessel decorated on one side with image of female nude in contrapostal pose, one arm crosses body to opposite breast, other arm extends across lower torso, legs and feet together; short solid stem has double flattened knops, slightly domed foot, ground and polished base edge; polished pontil; inscribed in script on polished pontil: "Steuben"; inscribed at feet replica of designer's signature: "Kisling".
