Primary Description:
Clear glass; blown, applied, blown in optic mold, gilded, enameled; straight-sided body increasing in diameter towards a slight flaring rim; a thick ribbon of colorless glass was trailed spirally around the bubble from bottom to top. The bubble was further inflated in a vertically ribbed mold that cut across the trail, resulting in a pattern of soft-edged (cushion-shaped) square facets. A thick trail of colorless glass was wound around the edge of the base, overlapping at the ends and notched to form vertical ribs. A band of gold foil was applied below the rim and a small square of gold foil decorates each facet of the beaker's wall. The vertical depressions were emphasized by rows of small dots in white enamel, and a single larger white dot was placed in the depression above and below each facet. A row of enameled white dots also emphasizes the rim. The base is pushed in to form a shallow kick and has a rough pontil mark.
