Alison Kinnaird

Alison Kinnaird has an international reputation as an artist working in glass. Primarily a wheel-engraver, she has taken this ancient technique in new directions, often combining it with modern technology including optical fiber and LED lighting. Her work ranges from small, intimate pieces to installations on an architectural scale. She is represented in many important public and private collections, including that of the V&A Museum, Corning Museum and the Tutsek Foundation, Munich. Commissions include works in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, and the Murano Hotel, Tacoma. In 1997 she was awarded an MBE for services to Art and Music. She is an experienced teacher, having taught at Frauenau, North Lands, Urban Glass and Wroclaw.
