Biography: Jody Danner Walker

Jody Danner Walker
Jody Danner Walker

Jody Danner Walker is an artist and a guest instructor who studied art in England and now teaches advanced classes on kiln-formed glass around the world, in universities, private studios, and glass schools, including the The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and her Warm Glass Gallery and Studio in North Carolina.

Having begun as a two-dimensional artist, Walker finds that kiln-formed glass is an exciting medium which allows her to express herself in multiple ways and dimensions. Her voice can be translated through casting, printmaking, painting on multiple layers with enamels, pâte de verre, or her method of pâte de verre sucré, depending on her inspiration.

Walker was included in The Corning Museum of Glass’ New Glass Review 32, and in 2008-9 was juried into a show at the Smithsonian Institution. Her book, Printmaking Techniques on Glass, was published in Fall 2011. Her art is found in galleries, museums, private and corporate collections around the world.
