Biography: Judy Jensen

Judy Jensen

Judy Jensen has exhibited widely throughout the United States and Asia. Her work is included in numerous public and private collections, including the Royal Ontario Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and The Corning Museum of Glass. She has received an NEA Visual Arts Fellowship, and her work has been included in New Glass Review six times. Jensen worked almost entirely on commissions from 2003 until 2013.

Since 2013, Jensen has been involved in a project to replace glass paintings destroyed in an earthquake in a 19th-century Buddhist temple in Thailand. The paintings depict the Buddha’s life and previous incarnations. While working on this project, she received a grant from Bangkok’s James H.W. Thompson Foundation in support of the project and has been designated Creative Ambassador to Thailand by the city of Austin.
