Julia Rogers

Julia Rogers is a glass sculptor and performance artist from Brookings, Ore. After initially discovering glass in 2000, Rogers met glass artist Robin Rogers a year later at the Cloud Cap Glass Studio in Montana. There, Julia and Robin found their glass interests overlapping and began working together. That partnership led to the creation of a portable hot shop and they left Montana to take their glassmaking on the road.

Rogers has since earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Ill., in 2008, and then earned her Master of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, in 2010. Rogers has been a beginning glassblowing instructor, and taught a class at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio in 2011.

Rogers “loves working with glass and sharing its magic with others,” she says. “Always finding inspiration within molten material and excitement from my students, I will continue to be an advocate of glass.”
