Katya Izabel Filmus is an Israeli artist based in the UK working primarily in kiln cast glass. Filmus earned a BFA in Ceramics and Glass at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Israel, specializing in sculpture, and an MA in Glass from the University of Sunderland in England. She was awarded extended residencies in the USA and Scotland.

Filmus established her first studio in a Jerusalem-based glass factory in 2002 where she developed product ranges for the factory alongside her sculptural work. She lectured at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, and at Shenkar Collage for Engineering and Design in Israel. Now based at The National Glass Centre in Sunderland, she has worked on a number of major projects including the production of a series of cast stag heads for Glenfiddich that are in airports worldwide, and a series of 27 cast wall panels for the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. Her work has been exhibited in Israel, USA, UK, Finland, Spain, and Holland.
