Biography: Kevin Reynolds

Kevin Reynolds joined the Rakow Research Library in 2020 as the Chief Librarian and became Director of the Rakow Research Library in 2021. He is responsible for leading the Library, including print and digital collection development and management, public services, special collections, conservation and preservation, and digital initiatives.

Prior to joining the Museum, Kevin was the Dean of the Library at the Sandor Teszler Library of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. There, he championed efforts to increase awareness and use of digital and tangible archives and developed a master plan for a complete library re-envisioning and renovation. Kevin also spearheaded a Diversity Equity Inclusion initiative for the Sandor Teszler Library to bring greater diversity to the library’s staff and programming. Prior to his time at Wofford College, Reynolds worked at the Jessie Ball duPont Library at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and the Smyrna Public Library in Smyrna, TN.

Reynolds holds a MS in Information Science from the University of Tennessee, a BA in Anthropology and Religious Studies from Western Kentucky University, and has completed graduate studies in Hebrew Bible at Vanderbilt University. He has held numerous positions with the American Library Association, among other professional organizations.
