Biography: Kyle Landin

Kyle Landin

While glassblowing can be intimidating to newcomers, Kyle Landin brings a positive perspective to the process of learning the craft. Having blown glass since 2018, Landin sees glassblowing as a personal experiment and believes creating a work that is even remotely successful should be celebrated. “I would like people to see that blowing glass is an evolution,” said Landin. “Anything that is put away into the annealer is a success and something to be proud of, regardless of the mistakes that may have happened during the glassblowing process.” His work focuses on practical objects through refining beginning techniques.

Landin earned his BA in Linguistics and Chinese from the University of Pittsburgh.
