Biography: Laurientiu Anghelache

Laurientiu Anghelache

Laurientiu Anghelache, who lives in Bucharest, Romania, was The Studio’s first student from eastern Europe. Since his stay in Corning during the facility’s inaugural summer program in 1996, his work has been accepted in New Glass Review. He was invited to spend a month at The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass on a new body of work, and he brought with him his English-speaking brother, who resides in Canada. During his residency, Anghelache created sculpture that combines colorless blown and manipulated hot glass with intricately woven lampworked ladders.
