Biography: Lisa Demagall

Lisa Demagall

Lisa Demagall is a glass artist working with both sculptural flamework and kiln cast glass techniques. Demagall earned her MFA at the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2011, and a BFA from The Ohio State University in 2006. She has attended workshops at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Pilchuck Glass School, and the Ezra Glass Studio in Japan. She has held residencies at the Pilchuck Glass School and the Pittsburgh Glass Center. She is a two-time winner of the Akron Art Prize and won a Niche Award for sculptural glass.

Demagall has been teaching in higher education since 2013, and is currently teaching at Kent State University. She lives in northeast Ohio, where her artistic practice is investigating how the elapse of time and use can alter the history (or narrative) of our domestic objects and spaces.
