Biography: Noah Drew

Noah Drew
Noah Drew

Self-taught artist Noah Drew (Nobi-Wan) has been creating glass in his Upstate New York studio since 1997, drawing inspiration from his love of early 20th-century Art Nouveau, as well as his fascination with Hubble telescope imagery and all things science fiction. Drew interprets earthbound flora and the ethereal mastery of space within the infinite confines of marbles and pendants. His preferred technique is fuming, capturing vaporized gold and silver within glass to create geometric patterns reminiscent of flowers and the raw chaos of nebula clouds. Due to the unpredictable nature of fuming, each work is a singularity, and even though patterns may be duplicated, the results are constantly changing.
