Robin Rogers

Robin Rogers is an artist hailing from central Ohio who first began working with glass in 1995. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design, Ohio, and later his Master of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Ill. In 2001, Robin met glass student Julia Boriss (now Rogers) at a studio in Montana. They began learning and working together and eventually became part-owners of Cloud Cap Glass Studio.

In 2005, Robin and Julia re-imagined the possibilities of their studio and created a portable hot shop that they could tow behind them. They left Montana, packed up their “tools, dogs, and 1-year old son” and took their glass making on the road. “Through the synergy of this collaboration,” they said, “the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts.”

Robin has exhibited extensively in galleries and universities across Ohio, Virginia, and Illinois, and his large-scale work Self was featured in New Glass Review 30, published by The Corning Museum of Glass in 2008.
