Biography: Stephen Brucker

Stephen Brucker
Community Programs Manager

Stephen is the Manager of the Community Programs Team at The Studio where he manages the artist-in-residence, Group Glassmaking, and At-Risk Youth programs. He received his MFA in 2012 from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his BFA from SUNY Oswego in 2005.  Stephen operates his flameworking studio in Camillus, New York, and exhibits his work throughout the Northeast. He has been selected as an award recipient in both nationally and internationally juried exhibitions.

His borosilicate glass sculptures are centered on the combination of forms and structures found in nature and are aligned with themes signifying home, inclusion, and equity. Fragility, transparency, balance, and impermanence are core conceptual topics Stephen explores in each of his sculptures. He is most interested in representing these concepts in the most economical way possible while pushing the physical properties of the material.
