Finding Your Voice: Glass Sculpting

The focus of this class will be the development of glass sculpting techniques in order to express an individual artistic voice. By developing and formulating a repertoire of problem-solving and sculpting skills, students will have the tools necessary to sculpt their unique vision in glass. Graal carving and surface patterning and techniques will be explored, as well as solid- and blown-sculpture techniques. Discussions will include sculpture and strategies for marketing and professional practice. Be prepared to spend time drawing and bring a sketchbook and pencils. One year of glassblowing experience is required, advanced students are also welcome.
