Explore the nuances of creating functional glass, from assembly to surface decoration. Students will learn how to join different sized tubing together, explore decorative design elements, and apply a variety of color techniques and fuming. Instruction will include use of the mini Smith torch and an in-depth look at why they are a useful tool. Creativity and new ideas are encouraged! This class meets at The Studio on Tuesday evenings for ten weeks beginning October 5, 2021. This class works with borosilicate (hard) glass. Some flameworking experience is required; students should be familiar with working hollow forms.
