Flameworking: Piece by Piece

October 5 - December 7, 2021 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Ten-Week Session

Explore the nuances of creating functional glass, from assembly to surface decoration. Students will learn how to join different sized tubing together, explore decorative design elements, and apply a variety of color techniques and fuming. Instruction will include use of the mini Smith torch and an in-depth look at why they are a useful tool. Creativity and new ideas are encouraged! This class meets at The Studio on Tuesday evenings for ten weeks beginning October 5, 2021. This class works with borosilicate (hard) glass. Some flameworking experience is required; students should be familiar with working hollow forms.

For the wellbeing of all students and staff, The Studio is requiring that students, instructors, and teaching assistants participating in on-site classes must provide verification that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Detailed information about these measures can be found on The Studio Health and Safety page.
