George Kennard Guest Artist Demo

Amphitheater Hot Shop
July 7, 2016 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Geoge Kennard

See guest artist and hot glass demo team member, George Kennard in a live, narrated demonstration in the Amphitheater Hot Shop on July 7 from 6 to 7:30 pm.

With a penchant and a knack for making larger-than-life objects come to life, George Kennard is a Museum crowd favorite. A gaffer with the Museum since 2001, George has most recently led a team of gaffers who created our glass “snow dog” and was the featured artist for January’s 2300°, where he created a four-and-a-half-foot tall dragon stem goblet.

This demos is included in the cost of admission (kids and teens 17 and under are free).

George Kennard

Well-known for his fantastically large sculptures, George Kennard appreciates the limitless opportunities of manipulating molten glass. He prefers to create massive incalmo works by joining two blown glass bubbles to make different bands of color, and has worked with teams of up to 10 glassblowers to create some of his most notable large-scale works.
