Karina Guévin and Cédric Ginart: Guest Artist Demonstration

See Guest Artists Karina Guévin and Cédric Ginart during a live, narrated demonstration in the Amphitheater Hot Shop on June 20 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Flameworkers Guévin and Ginart employ a wide variety of techniques using rod and tubing to create sculptural objects that have visual impact.

Ginart works as a scientific glassblower at Montréal University and runs a flameworking studio in Québec. Guévin teaches flameworking and exhibits glass sculptures and jewelry in Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.

This demo is included in the cost of admission (kids and teens 17 and under are free).

Cédric Ginart

Cédric Ginart

Cédric Ginart has worked as a scientific glassblower with scientists, artists, industrialists, designers, and architects on experimental projects, unique artworks, prototypes, and art installations. He currently works at Montréal University as a scientific glassblower, and teaches artistic flameworking as a faculty member of Espace Verre.

Karina Guévin

Karina Guévin

Karina Guévin’s playful jewelery has been recognized with a Francois-Houdé Award and grants from the Canadian and Québec Consul for the Arts, La SODEC, and a Gilles Verville grant in visual art. She studied at Québec University, where she fell in love with glass and started making mixed-media sculptures that included glass.
