Attend free, informal lectures by Studio faculty, some of the best-known glassmakers in the world. Hear instructors speak about their work in unstructured and highly-informative sessions in The Studio Lecture Room on Tuesday nights throughout the class sessions.

This week features Ross Delano, Márta Edőcs, Kristina Logan, and David McDermott in the Studio Faculty Presentations series.

Ross Delano

Ross Delano

Ross Delano is a glassmaker who has been working with the material since 2005, when he was introduced to it at Franklin Pierce University while earning his BS in Business Administration. After college, he held numerous jobs including high school crew coach, old fashioned soda maker, and forklift driver. In 2010, Delano moved to Corning, New York, to pursue a career in glassblowing.

Márta Edöcs

Márta Edöcs

As a child growing up in Hungary, Márta Edöcs collected glass beads and used them to make her own jewelry. As an adult making her own glass beads, as well as plates and other objects, Edöcs finds joy and playfulness in shapes, surfaces, colors, and transparency. Edöcs practices flameworking to make her beads and then combines them with silver to create eye-catching jewelry and other objects.

Kristina Logan

Kristina Logan

Kristina Logan is recognized internationally for her precisely patterned and delicate glass beads. She travels throughout the world teaching workshops and lecturing on contemporary glass beads and jewelry.

David McDermott

David McDermott

David McDermott has 40 years of glassworking experience, predominately working with leaded glass in Sandwich, Mass. He has handcrafted custom glass for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the film industry, and for many heads of state.
