Catalog from F. & C. Osler's show room in Calcutta. Catalog includes cut glass crystal chandeliers, lanterns, candelabrum, kerosine [sic] table and hanging lamps, fountains, furniture, wall mirrors, photo and picture frames, hookahs and sillapchees (washing basins), hand mirrors, ladies dressing bags with cut glass accessories, and gentlemans fitted suit cases with cut glass toilet bottles, jars, etc.
Catalog is fragile and in very poor condition. Front cover is detached from the catalog, and the back cover is missing. Several pages are loose or torn, and it is quite probable that some pages have been removed from this catalog.
Accompanying this catalog is a letter from the Birmingham City Council Library Services to Mr. De Witt W. King, dated November 10, 1992, regarding his request for information regarding the firm of F. & C. Osler. Attached to this letter are photocopies of articles from the Birmingham Magazine of Art & Industries, v. 1, 1897-1898, p. 68-70; and the Leisure Hour, 1853, p.132-134.
Also received with this catalog, a glossy black and white photograph of a large cabinet, displaying plates, vases, and other ware that does not appear to be glass.
