This item is a "cabinet card" that was popular during the Victorian era; it was customary to mail these cards to family and friends abroad.
Amory Houghton, Sr. (1812-1882) was the founder of Corning Glass Works.
"Hillman, Corning, N. Y." -- embossed along lower edge of board.
"Grandfather Houghton" penciled in along upper edge of board verso.
