March 17, 2022
As team celebrates 25 years, demonstration pieces now available for purchase for first time.

The Hot Glass Team at The Corning Museum of Glass is comprised of talented artists from across the world, united by their love for an inherently dangerous, endlessly captivating process and material: glass. 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Museum’s hot glass demonstrations—a robust program that began in front of a theater for 90 people and has since been taken around the world. The Hot Glass Team excels not only at making amazing work, but in sharing the story of a material unfamiliar to most people in molten form. For the anniversary, the Hot Glass Team has teamed up with the Museum Shops to create a product line, offering their work for purchase for the very first time.

“MADE by the Hot Glass Team” features handmade objects created during live demonstrations.

“For 25 years, the product of our demonstration has been the demonstration itself,” said Eric Meek, Sr. Manager of Hot Glass Programs. “Audience members have always been eager to purchase works that they saw made by our glassmakers, and we’re thrilled to now be able to offer just that through the MADE line.”

The Hot Glass Team brings the Museum’s collection to life through live demonstrations on a daily basis. MADE was thoughtfully developed to allow visitors to take a piece of the Museum experience home with them.

“Corning, NY, has a long and storied legacy that has been shaped by the hands of the glassmakers who have lived and worked here,” said Meghan Bunnell, buyer for The Shops. “The MADE line carries on that legacy, building on the tradition of making beautiful objects for people to enjoy in their homes.”

MADE products are now available at The Shops and online
