The Grand Bohemian Troupe of Fancy Glass Workers | Behind the Glass Lecture

See The Grand Bohemian Troupe of Fancy Glass Workers at The Corning Museum of Glass! Over a span of 300 years, traveling flameworkers entertained and educated audiences around the world on the art, science, and skill of glassmaking. Learn about their lives and witness a modern take on their performances, featuring flameworkers who carry on some of the same traditions today. Librarian Rebecca Hopman and flameworkers Bandhu Dunham, David Sandidge, Caitlin Hyde, and Eric Goldschmidt present a special program and demonstration about this little-known facet of glass history.

Behind the Glass lectures take place the second Thursday of the month. These events include the Museum’s popular Meet the Artist lectures, as well as talks by curators, writers, and historians. All lectures are free and open to the public.
