WWTA Patrick Primeau Guest Artist Demonstration

Have you ever wondered what’s going through an artist’s mind as they’re making a piece in our Amphitheater Hot Shop? Here’s your chance to ask them directly. Join us as we host our Watch with the Artist online event series. The artist will be available to chat and answer your questions in real time as we watch this demonstration together. Watch as Patrick Primeau and his wife Caroline Ouellette create a three-piece vessel using the incalmo technique, a process of adjoining elements of glass that demands extreme precision. Patrick and Caroline co-own Welmo Glass Studio in Montreal, and in 2019, Patrick was featured as a contestant on the Blown Away series on Netflix. Influenced by the shapes and colors he sees while scuba diving, Patrick Primeau explores organic shapes in his work. His innovative designs inspired by Venetian techniques have earned him a place in the collection of Montreal Fine Arts Museum and the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec. His pieces are also found in several private collections. In 2004, he co-founded Welmo Glass Studio in Montreal with Caroline Ouellette.
